Where they were

Fiscal Asesoría had a steady business. Word-of-mouth kept clients coming, and turnover was stable. But stable isn't growth. There was no active acquisition. No paid search. No ads. No plan for bringing in new clients beyond waiting for referrals.

Three things stood in the way:

  • ✕No brand awareness. Outside their existing clients and referrals, nobody knew they existed. Competing with established firms meant competing on visibility they didn't have.
  • ✕€50 a day. That's it. Not enough to compete on Google Ads against national firms with deep pockets. Every euro had to work harder than the competition's.
  • ✕No digital acquisition channel. The firm's entire client base came from relationships. That's a strength, but it's not scalable. They needed a second engine.

The insight that changed the approach

People don't search for accountants the way they used to. They ask ChatGPT. They ask it about tax deadlines, autónomo registration, quarterly filings, and who can help. That behavior is growing fast — and almost no accounting firm in Spain is showing up in those answers.

At the same time, local search on Google Maps is still where "asesoría fiscal near me" gets answered. That channel is competitive, but it's winnable for a local firm with the right approach — not a national budget.

The bet: combine the newest channel (ChatGPT Ads) with the oldest local channel (Google Maps) and see if €50/day could compete. Nobody in their market was doing this yet.

What we did

  1. 01

ChatGPT Ads — first movers in the market

We set up ChatGPT Ads around the questions their future clients actually ask: autónomo registration, quarterly tax filings, fiscal advisory for small businesses. Context hints were built from the real language of Spanish tax queries, not translated from English. First-mover advantage mattered — competitors weren't there yet.

  2. 02

    Local SEO on Google Maps

We rebuilt their Google Business Profile, optimized for the local pack, standardized citations and NAP data, and built local landing pages targeting the specific services people search for. The goal was top-3 visibility for "asesoría fiscal" in their city — not national rankings they couldn't win.

  3. 03

    One strategy, two channels, €50/day

The budget was split between the two channels. ChatGPT Ads drove traffic from people in research mode. Local SEO captured people ready to call. Different stages of the same journey, working together instead of separately. The paid channel gave us data on what people were asking. We fed that language back into the local content.

One honest note on the budget: OpenAI gave us €500 in free ad credit to test the platform, on top of a €500 spend. We used it — but the results weren't because of the discount. Twelve clients and 70% more traffic came from the strategy, the context hints, and the local SEO. The credit just made the first month cheaper to test. Without it, the same campaign would have cost €500 more and produced the same outcome.

Twelve clients in month one doesn't sound like a lot compared to the other case studies. But those are twelve long-term clients — SLs and autónomos who stay for years, not one-time purchases. At €50/day, the lifetime value of one client covers the entire campaign budget many times over. This is what low-budget acquisition looks like when it works.

The bigger picture

The traffic number is the headline. The channel is the real story.

Fiscal Asesoría now has two acquisition engines where before they had none. ChatGPT Ads reaches people in research mode. Local SEO captures people ready to act. Neither one requires a national budget. Both compound over time — the local rankings keep improving, and the ChatGPT ad data keeps sharpening the targeting.

Most small firms in Spain are still waiting for referrals. The ones who move first into AI search and local visibility will own those channels before the competition notices. That window is open right now.
